TwinSpires offer code & welcome bonus
TwinSpires has one of the more interesting initial bonus schemes for new customers, with every customer able to claim the same $100. Many other sites use a matched deposit bonus, where the site will offer a bonus the same size as your initial deposit.
TwinSpires take a different approach. Instead, the $100 bonus is awarded to all customers and is cleared by placing bets. You don’t need a Twinspires offer code, but instead, can use this link to create a new account.
Every time you place $100 in wagers, $20 of the $100 bonus will be cleared and put in your account. Once you have made a total of $500 in bets, you will have cleared the full bonus and find yourself with an additional $100 in your account.
This bonus system is a straightforward one with no catches. Also, you won’t need a calculator or a degree in math to understand the terms and conditions thoroughly.

Special offers and promotions at TwinSpires
Click on the “Offers” link at the top of the homepage, and you’ll see a page filled with a variety of promotions.
Many of the promos coordinate to some of the big upcoming races and meetings such as the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes, the Belmont Stakes and the Breeders’ Cup.
You might, for example, find an offer where if you place a futures bet on one of these races, you’ll receive your money back if the horse finishes in second place.
Other seasonal promotions include “First Time Starter Winsurance,” where if you back a first-time starter and it leads at the final call but goes on to lose the race, you’ll get your money back.
You can enjoy 25% cash back on select exotic bets, 10% bonuses on exacta payouts and enjoy a share of large prize funds in events such as the “$100,000 Place Payout Series” and the “$50,000 Road to the Kentucky Derby Challenge.”
The offers and promotions change regularly, but with as many as 15 different promotions running at a time, it’s a good idea to keep your eyes glued to this page.
How the TwinSpires site works
On entering the site, you’ll immediately be taken to the landing page where all of the day’s race meetings are listed in the left-hand column. By clicking on the meeting, you’ll go to the next upcoming race (if you click it early in the day, the first race will automatically load).
In the “Bet Now” section is where you’ll find yourself looking at your first race card of the day. Here you’ll see a list of each runner in the race, with a host of additional info. Next to the name of the horse are the race colors, while the color of the horse (chestnut, bay, etc.), as well as the age and home state, are detailed below.
The next two columns feature information about both the jockey and the trainer, including win records. Further columns feature information about the sire/dam of the horse and the breeder, too.
The final column features the odds, with morning line odds, too, so you can monitor price changes. Click the speed, class and pace drop-down menus for more info on each of the runners.
To make a selection, you’ll just place a tick in the empty circle to the right of your chosen horse. You’ll now have the option to submit the selection immediately or to save the bet to your bet slip (a good choice if you plan to be placing a series of wagers).
Moving from race to race is quick and accessible through the use of two drop-down menus above the chosen race card, where you can select the meeting in the first and the race number in the second.
Five more menus are accessible at the top of the screen. The “Bet Now” (default) option allows you to place your bets, check the calendar, results and replays. Jackpot hunters will be interested in the “Carryovers” menu, too.
The “Offers” section is the link to all the promotions you can enjoy at the site. The “News” section brings you all the latest updates as well as a link to the TwinSpires’ blog.
“Handicapping” (detailed below) is where you’ll be reading the form. Finally, the “Support” section gives you links to FAQ and a handy guide on how to use the site.
TwinSpires app
TwinSpires has recently updated its app for an on-the-go live betting experience.
The app is available for all Apple mobile devices. To download the app on an iPhone or an iPad, simply head to the app store where you can download it.
If you are using an Android device, you can enjoy the full wagering experience by visiting the mobile TwinSpires’ website.
Whether using the app or the mobile site, you can log in using the same credentials as the main site. You can check form, look at the latest offers, move from race to race, place your bets and even stream the races, too.
What races are available at TwinSpires?
Under the “Handicapping” tab at the top of the page, you’ll find the link to the racetracks available for online betting at TwinSpires.
At the bottom of this page, you’ll find a list (in alphabetical order) of every worldwide track featured. The list covers hundreds of tracks, which means that if you head to the site at any time of day, there is sure to be a race about to start somewhere.
To save scrolling through the entire (long) list, you can click on the first letter of the track to jump to that part of the list.
If you’re concentrating on US tracks, there’s a handy interactive Google map that has a pin marking every US track.
Head to any state and check out the location of the tracks, or take in the view of the entire US. You can zoom in close to any track and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the track layout, e.g., zoom into Churchill Downs and pick out the twin spires themselves.
Types of bets at TwinSpires
TwinSpires links all of the wagers to the pari-mutuel pools at the track, meaning that you can place any of those track bets at the site. Your wager will immediately go into the same betting pool, too.
Here is a rundown of some of the more popular bets:
- Win: Your selection has to win the race for the wager to payout.
- Place: You’ll win if your selection finishes first or second in the race.
- Show: You’ll win if your selection finishes first, second or third in the race.
- Exacta: Pick the first and second finishers in the correct order.
- Trifecta: Pick the first, second and third finishers in the correct order.
- Superfecta: Pick the first, second, third and fourth finishers in the correct order.
Twinspires Account Sign In
The exacta, trifecta and superfecta also offer “box” options, where for additional stakes you can create combinations, meaning that your selections won’t have to finish in the correct order.
Multiple race betting options
There are also a series of wagers available across more than one race.
The daily double is a popular bet, where you’ll aim to pick the winners of each of the first two races.
Wagers such as Pick 3 and Pick 6 are more difficult, where you have to choose the winner of a series of races. The beauty of these wagers is that the potential prize funds can be huge.
Carryovers come into play in these markets, where if the prize isn’t won on a particular day, the whole prize pool carries over into the next day. It’s, therefore, a good idea for jackpot hunters to keep an eye on the “Carryovers” page, which are under the “Bet Now” tab.
Share bets with friends with BetShare
One of the more innovative wagering features at TwinSpires is “BetShare.”
This feature enables you to share your bets with your friends, choose how many ways you want to split your bet so your friends can have a piece of the action, too. Instigate the initial bet, and you’ll be the “Captain” or simply take a share in a wager where a friend becomes the captain.
Player pools are also a feature at TwinSpires.
An expert in the field at handicapping will attempt to land the Pick 6 at a selected meeting, and members of the site can enter the pool. If the expert picks end up winning the big prize, entrants into the pool will win a percentage (based on their stake in relation to the pool) of the overall payout.
Live streaming and results at TwinSpires
As a member of TwinSpires, you’ll be able to watch any race.
In the “Bet Now” section of the site, you can click the play button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is where you’ll be able to watch a live stream of the selected race. You can expand the video to fill the entire screen, or keep it minimized so you can carry on your reading the form and placing your bets.
Live streaming is available on the main site, the mobile site and the app, too.
You’ll find the “Results and Replays” section under the “Bet Now” tab.
Here you will find the full results of the day and each meeting listed with a box representing each race. This is a convenient way of getting the results you want. If you’re going to check the result from a previous day, just click on the calendar icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.
The results service is comprehensive.
Each result displays the Top 3 finishers with the win, place and show returns to the right. Below, you’ll also find the payouts for all of the exotic wagers such as the exacta and trifecta, while any daily doubles or pick wagers will show (if this race represents the last in the selection).
The other finishers in the race can be found at the bottom of the screen. These are in order, so you’ll know precisely where your chosen selection came in.
At the top right of the results’ screen, you can click on the “Video” link where you’ll be able to watch a replay of the race. This is great for those of you who missed the race and also to check out the form of horses you are eyeing.
Statistics/database at TwinSpires
One of the best aspects of the TwinSpires’ site is the free past performance program. Just place a single wager on each of the race cards you download, and you won’t have to pay for the past performance package. Failure to place a wager and you will see the cost of the past performance package deducted from your account.
Here is a list of the best of the handicapping information available from TwinSpires through its partnership with Brisnet.com.

Churchill Downs, Incorporated (CDI) plans to launch its TwinSpires sportsbook in Tennessee this March.
The company made the announcement during a fourth quarter results conference call on Thursday, Feb. 25.
This means Tennesseans could have a new book available as early as March Madness.
TwinSpires targets Tennessee launch for March
This state-related news came amid discussion about the company’s national expansion and growth potential in 2021.
Tennessee will be the fifth state in which TwinSpires is operational – behind New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Michigan.
CDI says it intends to launch the sportsbook in the Volunteer State sometime within the next month, though it didn’t reveal an exact timeframe.
Undoubtedly, the company would like to launch before one of the most wagered on sporting events in March, the NCAA Championship.
TwinSpires brand merger
TwinSpires has long been associated with pari-mutuel wagering, Kentucky Downs and the Kentucky Derby.
Sports betting, on the other hand, is a new industry for the brand.
The venture gained footing in 2020, when the onset of COVID-19 severely hindered the profitability of CDI’s brands.
Twinspires Online Betting Old Account
Many of its casino properties lost significant revenue and were forced to operate at reduced capacity during the last year.
Additionally, the 2020 Kentucky Derby, which is generally a $181 million annual event, ran with no spectators for the first time in history.
Consequently, the pandemic became a major catalyst for the evolution of the company.
CDI felt the pressing need to generate alternative forms of income to foster prolonged market sustainability.
This is where TwinSpires came in.
In early January, CDI announced that it would be merging its BetAmerica sportsbook into its horse race betting platform TwinSpires.
The lower overall customer acquisition rates achieved by leveraging TwinSpires’ Kentucky Derby connection was a primary reason for rebranding.
TwinSpires saw a substantial increase in online horse wagering with brick-and-mortar racetracks closed. The online sports betting industry saw a similar uptick in profitability, making it a natural progression for the brand’s development.

When discussing company growth strategy during the conference call, CDI noted economical market reinvestment and exceptional customer service as two primary areas of focus going forward.
TwinSpires prepares to enter the Tennessee fold
Four sportsbooks are currently operational in Tennessee:
The Tennessee Education Lottery (TEL) approved three additional operators in January:
- TwinSpires
- William Hill
- WynnBET
TwinSpires was the first operator to receive a rubber stamp in the state’s second round of conditionally-approved licenses.
Each brand must finalize specific aspects of the licensing process before being officially cleared for a Tennessee launch. There has been no explanation as to what TwinSpires’ particular holdup may be.
Judging by today’s announcement, however, the company seems to be nearing the finish line.
